France has passed a new law that stops children under 15 from using social media.
This is the first time an EU country has passed such a law. Starting in September, young users cannot create new accounts, and existing accounts will be closed next year. The country is doing this to protect young people from the harmful effects of online platforms.
In addition, high school students will not be allowed to use mobile phones at school.
フランスは、15歳未満の子どもがSNSを利用できなくする新しい法律を可決しました。
EU（ヨーロッパ連合）の国がこのような法律を作るのは初めてです。9月から15歳未満の利用者は新しいアカウントを作れなくなり、既存のアカウントも来年には利用できなくなります。フランスは、インターネット上の悪影響から若者を守るため、この取り組みを進めています。
さらに、高校生は学校で携帯電話を使うことも禁止される予定です。
