A recent survey showed that over 90% of elementary school principals in Japan want first and second graders to use paper textbooks instead of fully digital ones. Even for third and fourth graders, about 80% still prefer paper.
This comes as the Japanese government prepares a law to officially allow digital textbooks. While digital learning is becoming more common, many educators believe paper textbooks are better for young children.
