A Chinese aircraft carrier named Liaoning has been practicing in the Pacific Ocean with China’s newest warship.
This is the first time this year that a Chinese aircraft carrier has been seen operating in this area. Japan’s Defense Ministry found the ships training near a small Japanese island far to the south. And Japanese forces watched Chinese fighter jets and helicopters taking off and landing on the carrier.
Japan’s defense minister said that Japan will continue watching the Chinese military carefully to protect the country.
