On August 6, 2026, Hiroshima marked the 81st anniversary of the world’s first atomic bombing.
Early in the morning, many people visited Peace Memorial Park to mourn those who lost their lives and pray for world peace. At 8:15 a.m., the exact time the bomb was dropped, participants at the peace ceremony stood in silent prayer.
Citizens and visitors shared a strong wish for a future free of nuclear weapons.
