A month has passed since a severe landslide struck the border region between Nepal and China, killing nearly 1,500 people.
More than 6,000 people remain missing, including a family of 5 from Japan. Identifying the victims has proven extremely difficult because many bodies were badly damaged. Local authorities are considering ending the search operations soon as hopes of finding survivors fade.
As a result, recovery and rebuilding in the affected communities will take a very long time.

ネパールと中国の国境付近で大規模な土石流が発生してから、1か月が経ちました。この災害で、およそ1500人が亡くなりました。
日本から訪れていた5人家族を含む6000人以上が、現在も行方不明となっています。多くの遺体が激しく損傷しているため、身元の確認は非常に困難になっています。生存者が見つかる可能性が低くなっていることから、現地当局はまもなく捜索活動を終了することを検討しています。
