Japanese companies are facing cyberattacks that mainly target Japan.
A security firm found that hackers used a Chinese AI tool called ARTEX in these attacks. Researchers examined the system used by the hackers and found that it targeted almost only Japanese websites. Around 20 organizations in fields such as retail, education, and finance were affected by these attacks. Experts warn that companies need to strengthen their security systems to protect themselves from AI-powered cyberattacks.
Meanwhile, GMO Internet Group has received a warning of a ransomware attack planned for noon on October 27. In an unusual move, the company has urged users to turn off their computers.
