Japan and South Korea held a joint sea training exercise on June 7 for the first time in nine years.
An escort ship from Japan and a landing ship from South Korea worked together to practice rescuing people at sea. Defense cooperation between the two countries had stopped after a military incident in 2018. However, they decided to work together again to protect the region from threats such as North Korea’s missiles.
